Post two

Turn off: For a few minutes turn off all distractions.  Mobile phone, chat, TV, radio, mp3 player....

Tune in: When you are ready slowly read these words.

Today is a new day
A gift from above.
A billion miracles of creation,
Each atom spinning by your love.
And as the sunlight strikes the cold ground
our earth is born again.

Christ our King we worship you.
You are like the light of the morning
You are like the golden sunrise
You are like the brightness that comes after the rain
You are like the springtime that brings grass to the earth
In the morning you hear our voices.
And in the morning we ask your help and wait in expectation

In this season of Advent, we are hear to watch and wait and pray for the coming of light into the world.  We long for the day when the things of darkness - selfishness and greed, suffering and oppression -  shall be no more.

Get reading: Presence not presents.
How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of the messenger who brings good news,
the good news of peace and salvation,
the news that the God of Israel reigns! (Isaiah 52)

Imagine you have an essay to hand in today, or a test to do, or a meeting with your boss.  But on
the radio it says, “today is a snow day”...good news, how do you feel about the radio station?
Or your exam results are out today, and the post man arrives....you got the result you needed...Good news!

Silence: Sit silently for at least one minute.  You may wish to close your eyes.

Get ready: Read slowly.....

For all people, struggling to be bearers of hope in a troubled world.
God, as we wait for your promise,
Give light, give hope.

May we see and know God In the world that’s around us.
May God take us through desert and take us through storms.
May God guide us, protect us, and give us a purpose.

Lord, give us your peace wherever you take us.
Bless us joyfully home.
Bless us joyfully home.
+In the name of the Creator, and of the Redeemer, and of the Companion. Amen.

Go out! Action to do for today or tomorrow, or when ever you can.  Or do an action from another day. Remember to look at picture of the week, and check for new videos and links.
Today, (this may be difficult in the snow!) put something in a charity box, or big issue seller, or for world AIDs day.
