Post five

see http://natwivity.com/
Turn off: For a few minutes turn off all distractions.  Mobile phone, chat, TV, radio, mp3 player....

Tune in: When you are ready slowly read these words.

Far I Have Come Far I Must Go
God of broken people and broken places
We confess to you our love of comfort,
of the known and predictable,
of the safe and secure.
We recognise that you call us into liminal space
To leave what we know and venture with you into desert
and wilderness, into blindness and discomfort
We want to follow you, but it’s hard to leave what we know
Help us to trust you, and to set out.
On the journey of faith,
Far I have come, far I must go

In this season of Advent, we are hear to watch and wait and pray for the coming of light into the world.  We long for the day when the things of darkness - selfishness and greed, suffering and oppression -  shall be no more.

Get reading:

Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
  the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
  his understanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the faint,
  and to him who has no might he increases strength.

Even youths shall faint and be weary,
  and young men shall fall exhausted;
but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;
  they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
  they shall walk and not faint.
                (from Isaiah 40)

Silence: Sit silently for at least two minutes (see if you can do five).  You may wish to close your eyes.

Get ready: Read slowly.....

For all God’s prophets,
confronting justice and restoring the dream
of a world of freedom and peace.
God, as we wait for your promise,
Give light, give hope.

May we see and know God In the world that’s around us.
May God take us through desert and take us through storms.
May God guide us, protect us, and give us a purpose.

Lord, give us your peace wherever you take us.
Bless us joyfully home.
Bless us joyfully home.
+In the name of the Creator, and of the Redeemer, and of the Companion. Amen.

Go out! Action to do for today, email or write to someone that you have not done so for a long time. Remember to look at picture of the week, and check for new videos and links.
