Turn off: For a few minutes turn off all distractions. Mobile phone, chat, TV, radio, mp3 player....
Tune in: When you are ready slowly read these words.
Today is a new day
A gift from above.
A billion miracles of creation,
Each atom spinning by your love.
And as the sunlight strikes the cold ground
our earth is born again.
Christ our King we worship you.
You are like the light of the morning
You are like the golden sunrise
You are like the brightness that comes after the rain
You are like the springtime that brings grass to the earth
In the morning you hear our voices.
And in the morning we ask your help and wait in expectation
In this season of Advent, we are hear to watch and wait and pray for the coming of light into the world. We long for the day when the things of darkness - selfishness and greed, suffering and oppression - shall be no more.
Get reading:
Isaiah remembers Moses escape from Egypt across the Red Sea
This is what God says,
the God who builds a road right through the ocean,
who carves a path through pounding waves,
The God who summons horses and chariots and armies—
they lie down and then can't get up;
they're snuffed out like so many candles:
"Forget about what's happened;
don't keep going over old history.
Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand-new.
It's bursting out! Don't you see it?
(from Isaiah 43)
Silence: Sit silently for at least two minutes. You may wish to close your eyes.
Get ready: Read slowly.....
For all people, struggling to be bearers of hope in a troubled world.
God, as we wait for your promise,
Give light, give hope.
May we see and know God In the world that’s around us.
May God take us through desert and take us through storms.
May God guide us, protect us, and give us a purpose.
Lord, give us your peace wherever you take us.
Bless us joyfully home.
Bless us joyfully home.
+In the name of the Creator, and of the Redeemer, and of the Companion. Amen.
Go out! Action to do for today or tomorrow, or when ever you can. Or do an action from another day. Remember to look at picture of the week, and check for new videos and links.
Today, pick up and put in the bin some litter that isn’t yours.
